The Garber Dukes fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Laingsburg 30-7. The result was nothing new for Garber, who have now won five games by 20 points or more so far this season.
Owen Halstead went supernova for Garber, rushing for 103 yards on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 203 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Max Fellows, who picked up 149 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Garber now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Laingsburg, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Garber will challenge Frankenmuth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Frankenmuth knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Garber likes a good challenge. As for Laingsburg, they will head out on the road to face off against Bath at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bath is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
