Trinity Christian pushed their score all the way to 69 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 76-69 to Community Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Trinity Christian in their matchups with Community Christian: they've now lost four in a row.
Trinity Christian's defeat came about despite a quality game from Carter Jordan, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. Jordan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 23 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian LoPresti, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Christ Covenant's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their tenth straight defeat. The contest between them and New Bern Christian Academy wasn't particularly close, with Christ Covenant falling 58-39.
Trinity Christian's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-10. As for Christ Covenant, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Trinity Christian against Christ Covenant in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 61-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
