It was a good run, but the Campolindo Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 70-59 to Ygnacio Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Mansour, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Another player making a difference was Gavin Rendle, who scored 18 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ygnacio Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Antonio Kellogg Jr, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Kellogg Jr hasn't dropped below 15 points for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Todd Tatom Jr, who scored 11 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Campolindo's loss dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Ygnacio Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
Campolindo will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Broncos at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Northgate focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday. As for Ygnacio Valley, they will head out on the road to take on the Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Miramonte will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 239th, while the Wolves are ranked 111th).
