Patrick County is 9-1 against Floyd County since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Buffaloes at 5:00 p.m. Patrick County knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Floyd County likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, Patrick County earned a 15-12 win over Liberty.
Meanwhile, Floyd County got the win against Narrows on Tuesday by a conclusive 22-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buffaloes.
Reagan Harris and Emma Biesterveld made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Harris tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Biesterveld tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Harris posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. At bat, Harris went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI, while Biesterveld went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Ava DeJesus and Lilly Mier-Gillispie did most of the damage at the plate: DeJesus went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI, while Mier-Gillispie went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most runs DeJesus has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Addison Allen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Floyd County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Patrick County's record now sits at 3-0. As for Floyd County, their record is now 2-0.
Patrick County came out on top in a nail-biter against Floyd County in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 7-6. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buffaloes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
