Softball Recap: Foster Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Foster put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's seventh consecutive shutout on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Alief Taylor Lions a 17-0 shutout. Considering the Falcons have won 12 matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lizzy Yeager looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jessica Reyes was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Tosch, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Foster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive contests.

Foster pushed their record up to 16-6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Alief Taylor, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, Foster will head out on the road to take on Alief Hastings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.13 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Alief Taylor, they will host George Ranch at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
