Knox is 1-0 against Lakeland since October of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Knox Redskins will head out on the road to face off against the Lakeland Lakers at 7:30 p.m. Knox will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Friday, Knox got themselves on the board against Caston, but Caston never followed suit. They blew past the Comets, posting a 50-0 victory on the road. Knox's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Lakeland, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 32-14 loss to Bluffton on Friday.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Keyan Arroyo, who picked up 130 receiving yards and a touchdown. Arroyo was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 67 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Mickem, who gained 138 total yards and a touchdown.
Knox's win was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.1 points per game. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Knox against Lakeland in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 65-28 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lakeland's Owen Troyer, who picked up 109 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Knox to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
