Deep Run hasn't had much luck against Godwin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Deep Run 3.7, Godwin 0.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Deep Run took a loss when they played away from home last Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Freeman by a score of 7-4.

05/02/25 vs Glen Allen | 5 |
04/29/25 vs J.R. Tucker | 12 |
Hope Tate made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Braelyn Baulsir and Brooke Black did most of the damage at the plate: Baulsir went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Black got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one triple. That's the most RBI Baulsir has posted since back in March. Sadie Hutchens was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Godwin put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Glen Allen get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Deep Run, Godwin also got a great game from a two-way player: Katelyn Hubley. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Hubley was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Bella Ross was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Laney Poulos, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Godwin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glen Allen only posted an OBP of .167.
Godwin pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Deep Run, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Deep Run suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Godwin when the teams last played back in April. Will the Wildcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
