St. Anthony has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though St. Anthony has not done well against Mary Star of the Sea recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. St. Anthony didn't even let Mary Star of the Sea onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory.
St. Anthony was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Troy Novoa and
Kieran Bizzaro, who scored.
In what's become a running theme this season, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. Everything went their way against Paraclete as St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy made off with a 4-1 win. Winning may never get old, but St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
St. Anthony now has a winning record of 5-4. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.
St. Anthony opened the new year with a less-than-successful 3-1 defeat to St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy. Can St. Anthony avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
