Notre Dame is 10-0 against East since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Notre Dame Titans will head out on the road to challenge the East Tartans at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Notre Dame has eight straight victories, East has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Notre Dame stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by Clay on the road to the tune of 56-17. Given Notre Dame's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Clay is ranked 740th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Notre Dame relied on the efforts of Katie Strickland, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds, and Gracie Ashley, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Ashley has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Ella Kirby was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-26, which was the final score in East's tilt against Ohio Valley Christian on Monday.
Notre Dame pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for East, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.
Everything came up roses for Notre Dame against East in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 60-14 victory. With Notre Dame ahead 46-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
