Geneva (N.Y.) didn't let up as Saturday's game came to a close, scoring 15 in the fourth quarter to seal a 31-7 victory over
Wayne (Ontario Center, N.Y.).
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, the Panthers led 10-0 at the half.
Geneva saw its 10-point halftime lead fall to nine entering the fourth.
Wayne's lone touchdown came on a 35-yard pass from
Nathan Currier to
Cameron Laforce in the third quarter.
GHS came into the game allowing 13.9 points per game. The seven points that the Eagles ended with were well below their average of 33.0 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Wayne, which notched a 25-14 victory over Livonia in its previous outing. The win brought Geneva's winning streak to three games. The loss ended Wayne's two-game winning streak.
