The Minico Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Emmett Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Minico is ranked 25th, while Emmett is ranked 35th).
Minico unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 49-15 loss at the hands of Twin Falls. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Emmett never let their opponents score on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 41-0 victory over Ridgevue. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Emmett.
Among those leading the charge was Ryder Scheibe, who rushed for 101 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Isaac Brennan, who gained 166 total yards and a touchdown.
Minico's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Emmett, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Minico was dealt a bruising 35-0 defeat at the hands of Emmett when the teams last played back in October of 2020. Will Minico have more luck at home instead of on the road?
