The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Garrett has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while the Wildcats will arrive with seven straight victories.
Last Thursday, Garrett ended up a good deal behind the Falcons and lost 49-32. While losing is never fun, Garrett can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Falcons are ranked 102nd).
In what's become a running theme this season, Whitko gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past North Miami 67-37 at home. With Whitko ahead 42-16 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Whitko's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Essegian, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Krull, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds.
Garrett has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Whitko, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
