The Covenant Christian Academy Golden Eagles can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-21 victory over Dominion Christian at home. That 34 point margin sets a new team best for Covenant Christian Academy this season.
It was another big night for Gabriel Marvin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 steals. Ryan Candland was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Something new happened on Friday as Benjamin Pavlak saw his first action of the season, playing 18 minutes against Dominion Christian. Pavlak made the most of the opportunity, scoring nine points along with five steals. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Covenant Christian Academy's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Dominion Christian, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Ad Fontes Academy the next time they take the court. Covenant Christian Academy will host Ad Fontes Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Dominion Christian will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
