The Campbell-Savona Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Fillmore Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Campbell-Savona will be strutting in after a win while Fillmore will be coming in after a defeat.
While Campbell-Savona's victory against Alfred-Almond wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Eagles 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Jake Wilson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Campbell-Savona's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Wilson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Elias Shamsiddeen, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double. Another was Rece Jamison, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Fillmore has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.81 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Genesee Valley. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost three in a row.
Fillmore also got a good showing from Malcolm Nusbickle, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Nusbickle has allowed since back in April.
At the plate, Damon Potter and James Hillman stepped up to the plate in a big way. Potter went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI, while Hillman went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that Hillman has launched this season. Jared Boon was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Fillmore's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Campbell-Savona, their record now sits at 4-7.
