Delta River recap September 10, 2013
Sheldon scaled the state rankings by moving to 267 from 407 this week, the biggest jump in Delta River. The Huskies climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Lodi 68-13.
Sheldon took down the Flames 68-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Ian Book put up the best numbers through the air as Oak Ridge beat Rocklin. He finished with 22 completions for 242 yards and 2 touchdowns. Book's favorite target this week was Trent Buenzli, who caught 4 passes for 91 yards.
Josiah Deguara was the best wideout in the league this week as Folsom defeated Granite Bay. Deguara tallied 11 receptions for 106 yards. Bryan Weldy helped Folsom's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 53 yards.
Demaree Morris was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 105 yards on 31 carries as Pleasant Grove beat the Grizzlies. Deaundre Terrell also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.
Folsom's Jake Browning and Deguara have formed a dream team this season, leading Delta River in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Browning has thrown for 658 yards this season, while Deguara has 16 catches for 199 yards. Josh Wellman from the Trojans leads the league in rushing with 147 yards.
Oak Ridge and the Thunder played the most contested game in the league this week, with Oak Ridge eventually emerging with a 23-21 victory. Book ran for 19 yards in the win.
