The Huntington North Vikings will take on the Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.
On Saturday, Huntington North didn't have quite enough to beat Fort Wayne South Side and fell 64-62. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Huntington North's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Titus Schultz, who went 9-for-18 en route to 28 points and five rebounds, and Dalton Husband, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, Husband is now averaging an impressive 2.4 steals per game. Blaine Freiburger was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.
Fort Wayne Bishop Luers has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-56 heartbreaker at the hands of Fort Wayne Snider. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since January 26, 2024.
Huntington North will need to focus on slowing down Ayle Taylor, one of several Fort Wayne Bishop Luers players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6-for-11 to rack up 18 points. Those 18 points gave Taylor a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dereon Truesdale, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.
Huntington North now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Huntington North has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 25.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Fort Wayne Bishop Luers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
