The High Point Baptist Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Mount Calvary Christian Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Mount Calvary Christian will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: High Point Baptist Academy extended their winning streak to five on Monday. The Eagles put the hurt on Coventry Christian with a sharp 15-1 victory. Considering the Eagles have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Landon Richard and Bradon Howe did most of the damage at the plate: Richard went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Howe went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Richard is becoming a predictor of High Point Baptist Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). Zach Howe also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
High Point Baptist Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Calvary Christian). Their pitcher stepped up to hand Coventry Christian a 16-0 shutout on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Chargers in their matchups with Coventry Christian: they've now won three in a row.
Logan Stewart was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Mount Calvary Christian got a massive performance out of Ben Gerlach, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Gerlach has posted since back in April of 2024. Owen Weisser was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
High Point Baptist Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Mount Calvary Christian, their record now sits at 5-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. High Point Baptist Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mount Calvary Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
High Point Baptist Academy couldn't quite get it done against Mount Calvary Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
