Basketball Recap: Orange Park Extends Winning Streak to Two

Orange Park won the last time they faced Bishop Snyder, and Trinity Dinkins did her part to make sure it happened again. The Orange Park Raiders strolled past the Bishop Snyder Cardinals with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 60-45 thanks in part to Dinkins, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (four).

Another player making a difference was Jayde Brant, who posted 14 points and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played.

Bishop Snyder's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shelby Gaines, who went 6 for 10 en route to 12 points along with eight boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Knight, who put up 13 points and seven rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Orange Park and bumps their season record up to 13-9. As for Bishop Snyder, with the loss, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-5.

Orange Park will take on Ridgeview in a tournament on Saturday. Ridgeview will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Orange Park surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bishop Snyder, they and Oakleaf will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
