Even though the Lovington Wildcats scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, the Dumas Demons still came out on top. Dumas had just enough and edged Lovington out 58-55. The win made it back-to-back wins for Dumas.
Lovington's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Julian Arroyo, who scored 25 points. Arroyo scored a full 45.5% of Lovington's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kayle Covington was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Dumas pushed their record up to 4-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.0 points per game. As for Lovington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Dumas will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Plainview Christian at 7:30 p.m. Lovington will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Gallup at 4:00 p.m. on December 7th.
