The Anderson Raptors were the 67-49 winner over the Winton Woods Warriors when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Anderson took a hard 63-49 fall against Winton Woods on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Anderson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while Winton Woods is ranked 15th).
Several Raptors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caden Piening, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Patterson, who scored 16 points.
Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Winton Woods, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Anderson's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Little Miami at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Little Miami will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Anderson surely won't give up without a fight. As for Winton Woods, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Walnut Hills at 7:30 p.m. Winton Woods knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Walnut Hills likes a good challenge.
