The Traders Point Christian Knights were the 57-21 winner over the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Traders Point Christian took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Indiana School for the Deaf on Tuesday.
Traders Point Christian's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joel Cook, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Cook scored a full 34.1% of Traders Point Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Dafler, who scored 7 points.
Even though they lost, Traders Point Christian were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indiana School for the Deaf only pulled down seven.
Indiana School for the Deaf's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Puent, who scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Jayden DeFalco, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds.
Traders Point Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Traders Point Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Phalen Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Phalen Leadership Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday.
