The Chapel Hill Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 47-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Villa Rica. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Chapel Hill of the 69-62 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Chapel Hill still got an impressive performance from Emahni Chambliss, who dropped a double-double on 34 points and 13 rebounds. That was a full 81% of Chapel Hill's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Chapel Hill dropped their record down to 3-15 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Villa Rica, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11.
Chapel Hill will take on Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jackson will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for Villa Rica, they will head out on the road to square off against Midtown at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Midtown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Villa Rica in Georgia (Midtown is ranked 43rd, while Villa Rica is ranked 289th).
