Rio Grande City came tearing into Friday's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots as they made off with a 12-1 win. Considering the Rattlers have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Rio Grande City let Jenelle Gonzalez and Dayana Lazos run wild. Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs, while Lazos scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Leilani Reyna was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Rio Grande City hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive games.

Rio Grande City pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Rio Grande City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-0 victory against Palmview on the 2nd. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-0 loss against Mission on the 1st.
