The Rayville Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Ferriday Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
After a string of three wins, Rayville's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 40-6 loss at the hands of Mangham. Having soared to a lofty 52 points in the game before, Rayville couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, Ferriday's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Plaquemine on the road and fell 55-20. Ferriday was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-14.
Despite their defeat, Ferriday saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jerry Griffin jr, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Caleb Ellis, who rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown.
Rayville now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Ferriday, they now also have a losing record at 4-5.
Rayville skirted past Ferriday 20-18 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Ferriday's Chavo Thomas, who rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
