On Saturday, the Northside Christian Academy Knights faced The Burlington School Spartans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Northside Christian Academy fell 56-46 to The Burlington School.
The Burlington School found their leader in underclassman King Gibson, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zion Walker, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Northside Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 18-8. As for The Burlington School, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Northside Christian Academy will head out on the road to take on Gaston Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Gaston Day will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Northside Christian Academy is ranked 19th). The Burlington School's road trip will continue as they head out to face Greenfield at 2:30 p.m. on January 15th. Greenfield has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,703 points over their last 21 matchups.
