There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.
Can't Touch This
Mountain View got a 35 - 12 win over Summit last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Jonas Larson. Larson ran for 266 yards and also punched in two touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Larson as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Lake Oswego (2nd in the power rankings) and Liberty (15th). Lake Oswego took its contest against Liberty by a conclusive 45 - 13 score. Lake Oswego did have the odds in its favor, but the team did even better than the MaxPreps state rankings indicated.

Oregon City fell 477 yards shy of Lakeridge in their game last week, so the final result shouldn't be a surprise. Oregon City received a tough blow as it fell 44 - 27 to Lakeridge. Given its troubles on the defensive side (averaging 28 allowed points per game), Lakeridge must have known that it would have to bring in some offensive vigor. The bitter result was made even more difficult to swallow as it knocked the team down three power ranking positions, the most of any team in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Jesuit (6th in the power rankings) and Sheldon (3rd). The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. With each team boasting a good deal of offensive firepower (Jesuit has three high-flying games in a row, Sheldon five), it will be interesting to see who can run the score up higher.
