Lindblom had lost 11 straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 1-16 to make it 12. They lost 11-4 to the Kennedy Crusaders. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Lindblom saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Terrance Washington, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Jordan Terrell was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.
As for Kennedy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games.
On Kennedy's side, Alec Mendoza was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Mendoza has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.
In other pitching news, Abraham Prieto looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Mason Rychetsky and Jaycob Solorio did most of the damage at the plate: Rychetsky got on base in all four of his plate appearances with six stolen bases and four runs, while Solorio got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those six stolen bases gave Rychetsky a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nicholas Gallas, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lindblom will take on Thornton Fractional South at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kennedy, they will square off against Hillcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
