Adams Central is a perfect 8-0 against Maxwell since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Patriots will head out to square off against the Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. Adams Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
Adams Central came out on top against Centennial on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Patriots blew past the Broncos 11-1. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won three in a row.
Kowen Rader made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rader was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
In other pitching news, Aiden Krejci looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Those four stolen bases gave Wahlmeier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Mousel, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Adams Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Maxwell, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They skirted past Aurora 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 12, 2024.
Maxwell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Breckyn Collins, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Collins has hit this season. Jaiven Wescoat was another, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
Adams Central pushed their record up to 13-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Maxwell, their record now sits at 2-3.
Maxwell's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Adams Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .458. It's a different story for Maxwell, though, as they've only averaged .333. Will they be able to contain Adams Central's hitters?
Everything went Adams Central's way against Maxwell in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Adams Central made off with a 12-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
