It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Natalia Mustangs can now relate to. They were outmatched by Odem on the road and fell 49-7. Natalia was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
Josh Chavira was his usual excellent self, throwing for 235 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes. Trey Canales did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 110 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Natalia's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Odem, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Natalia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Odem will square off against Lexington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lexington is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
