Business Engineering Science Tech can attribute much of their success to Jacob Mickell, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds, and Joshua Mickell, who went 11 of 22 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. Jacob's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicholas Dozier, who posted 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Business Engineering Science Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Clayton). They blew past Utopian Academy for the Arts 83-44 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.
North Clayton's win came from a few key players Business Engineering Science Tech will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaquavius Cox, who put up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Cadence Burch, who posted 13 points.
Business Engineering Science Tech's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.6 points per game. As for North Clayton, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.
Business Engineering Science Tech didn't have too much breathing room in their game against North Clayton in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 54-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Business Engineering Science Tech since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
