The Lisbon Broncos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their tenth straight defeat. Their rough 61-36 defeat to Valley City might stick with them for a while. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lisbon in their matchups with the Hi-Liners: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Broncos players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emerson Schultz, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryatt Wertman, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Lisbon dropped their record down to 3-14 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Valley City, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Lisbon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Dakota (Ellendale is ranked 88th, while the Broncos are ranked 89th). As for Valley City, they will head out on the road to challenge the Squirrels at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
