The Key West Conchs will head out on the road to face off against the Marathon Dolphins at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Key West comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Key West suffered their biggest defeat since December 2, 2023 on Saturday. They suffered a rough 64-41 loss at the hands of Palmetto Ridge. Key West was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-14.
Marathon posted their closest victory yet this season on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against David Posnack Jewish Day and snuck past 40-37. The victory was just what Marathon needed coming off of a 62-38 loss in their prior match.
Key West's loss was their 12th straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.6 points per game. As for Marathon, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.
Key West couldn't quite finish off Marathon when the teams last played last Tuesday and fell 69-67. Can Key West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
