Baseball Game Preview: Palmer Ridge Bears vs. Rampart Rams

The Palmer Ridge Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Rampart Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmer Ridge has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Palmer Ridge is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They fell 13-10 to Liberty. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lancers 6-2 in the first period.

Ian Slater made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Vandenbussche, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rampart, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Sand Creek with a sharp 16-6 victory on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Will Jackson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season. Another player making a difference was Justus Derickson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.

Rampart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Palmer Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Rampart, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Palmer Ridge suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Rampart in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Palmer Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
