The Southside Panthers came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 58-47 victory over Cherokee County. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Southside also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Grace Anne rose was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The match was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laylah Davis, who scored 11 points along with three blocks.
Southside pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cherokee County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
