The Freeburg Midgets came tearing into Tuesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Waterloo by a score of 62-54. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Freeburg also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Cole Stuart continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Matt Pluff, who scored eight points.
Freeburg's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Waterloo, they bumped their record down to 5-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeburg will be home for the holidays to greet Salem at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Salem will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 405th, while Freeburg is ranked 199th). Waterloo will be home for the holidays to greet Civic Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
