Maple Mountain scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Timpanogos, 14-13. At the time, the Timberwolves was ranked 19th in the state, while the Golden Eagles was 31st.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Timpanogos, who took down 19th ranked Timpanogos, 14-13.
Orem's Taylor Camp and Nolan Gray have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 4A Region 8 in both passing and receiving yards. Camp has thrown for 2277 yards this season, while Gray has 51 catches for 936 yards. Maple Mountain's Kj Hall leads the league in rushing yards with 704.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Tigers and Brad Burtenshaw's team. Orem enters the contest ranked 21st in the state, while the Golden Eagles ranks 22nd.
Tyler Anderson's team's Gray needs only 64 receiving yards against Maple Mountain to crack 1,000 for the season.
There should be lots of points scored when the Tigers and the Golden Eagles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Orem comes in having scored 276 this season, while Maple Mountain has scored 198. The Tigers scored 36 points last week as they beat Mountain View.
The Golden Eagles were able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Ed Larson's team. Maple Mountain came in at 22 in the state poll after placing at number 31 last week.
