The Southwest Wildcats had to endure a 17-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They secured a 32-27 W over Madison on Friday. That five points margin sets a new team best for Southwest this season.
Southwest's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emalee Granville, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Granville has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Leanna Smith, who scored six points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Madison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-11.
Southwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Madison will be playing at home against Glasgow on Monday. Glasgow will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
