If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Stoneham. Essex Tech and Stoneham go head to head on Friday at 6:30 PM in their first playoff match of the year. Stoneham know how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully Essex Tech like a good challenge.
Stoneham put the finishing touches on their 6th blowout victory of the season last Friday. They won the contest and then some against Wilmington, taking the contest 36-7. The team accrued the bulk of their points in the first half (30) and coasted on those for the victory.
Meanwhile, Essex Tech might be getting used to good results now that the team has three wins in a row. They captured a comfortable 38-20 win over Nashoba Valley Tech.
Their wins bumped Stoneham to 7-0 and Essex Tech to 4-3. After the lofty point totals in their previous games, we'll see if they're able to heat things up even more while facing each other.
