Central is 0-6 against York Prep since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They walked away with a 53-45 victory over Buford. The win was just what Central needed coming off of a 61-40 loss in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sierra Covington, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Covington has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Taisha Quick, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Even though York Prep has not done well against Buford recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Payton Munsey was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 12 points, ten rebounds, and ten blocks. Another player making a difference was Jordan Roberts, who scored ten points.

Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Central have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 31.3 rebounds per game. It's a different story for York Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 17.2 rebounds per game. Given Central's sizeable advantage in that area, York Prep will need to find a way to close that gap.
