After four games on the road, Vina is heading back home. They will take on the Brilliant Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Vina came up short against Fayette County and fell 53-45.
Despite their defeat, Vina saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Layla Hester, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals, was perhaps the best of all. The game was Hester's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Khylee Brooks, who scored 8 points along with 18 rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Brilliant's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to Marion County on the road by a decisive 54-35 margin.
Their wins bumped Vina to 6-5 and Fayette County to 5-8.
Vina came up short against Brilliant when the teams last played back in January, falling 50-43. Can Vina avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
