Hinsdale South made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,948 from 6,295. The advance stemmed from a 28-0 victory over Morton last week.
Downers Grove South led West Suburban - Gold in scoring this week by notching 29 points on Proviso East.
6-foot-3 quarterback Brian Johnson of Willowbrook is the league leader in passing yards this season with 958. He has also thrown 9 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Mark Watson. The Hinsdale South star has 20 catches for 315 yards.
The Mustangs are currently in second, while the Hornets are in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Downers Grove South takes on Hinsdale South. John Belskis' team has allowed 165 points this season, while Mike Barry's team has given up 142. The Mustangs allowed 14 points last week as they bested the Pirates.
