East Duplin scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 77-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the North Lenoir Hawks. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why East Duplin lost, don't look at Calvin Harper. Despite the final result, he posted 29 points and five steals. Harper continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Whaley, who earned 15 points.

East Duplin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-4 record this season. As for North Lenoir, they moved to 3-10 with that victory, which also ended their ten-game losing streak.

East Duplin will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against South Lenoir at 8:00 p.m. East Duplin is facing South Lenoir at the right time seeing as South Lenoir is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for North Lenoir, they will head out to challenge James Kenan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
