Savannah has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Green City Gophers at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Monday, Savannah didn't have too much trouble with Lathrop on the road as they won 71-53. 71 seems to be a good number for Savannah as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, Green City earned a 55-48 win over Kauffman on Tuesday. Given Green City's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked tenth, while Kauffman is ranked 253rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Asher Buggs-Tipton was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Green City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Tipton, who scored nine points.
Savannah now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Green City, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
