After a string of five wins, the White House Blue Devils's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 66-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenbrier. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
White House lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryce Hill, who scored 14 points along with three steals and three blocks. Hill is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dawson Carson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Greenbrier's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nolan Carson, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 16 rebounds, and ten assists. Carson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Castleman, who scored 18 points.
White House's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Greenbrier, they pushed their record up to 10-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
White House will take on Portland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Portland is ranked 151st, while White House is ranked 130th). As for Greenbrier, they will head out on the road to square off against Station Camp at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
