After having lost a blowout to Spruce Mountain in their previous match, Winthrop/Monmouth Academy were happy to find some success last week. Winthrop/Monmouth Academy had just enough and edged out Oak Hill 14-12. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.
Meanwhile, Wells faced Cape Elizabeth in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Wells blew past Cape Elizabeth 40-14. The success made it back-to-back wins for Wells.
