Softball Recap: Estero Wins Going Away Against Aubrey Rogers

Estero won the last time they faced Aubrey Rogers and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wildcats blew past the Patriots 11-3. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Annika Jarvi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits.

At the plate, Ava Weinbaum was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Lillian Peregrin, who went 2-for-4 with two triples, one run, and one RBI.

Weinbaum wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Estero kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. The Wildcats are 7-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Estero is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Aubrey Rogers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Estero will challenge Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Bullsharks at the right time seeing as the Bullsharks are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Aubrey Rogers, they will square off against Oasis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sharks have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season.
