The Snook Bluejays fell victim to the Falls City Beavers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Beavers 28-0. Snook's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Falls City found their leader in underclassman Braylon Johnson, who rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns on only seven passes. Johnson's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.
Snook's defeat was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-1 Burton and 7-1 Anderson-Shiro (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.7% over those games). As for Falls City, the win was the fourth in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Snook will take on Yorktown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Yorktown is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Falls City will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Somerville at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
