After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pender, the Bancroft-Rosalie Panthers were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top against Homer by a score of 63-52. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Bancroft-Rosalie also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Bancroft-Rosalie got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kairece Morris out in front who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. Morris also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Addison James was another key contributor, almost dropping a triple-double on 12 points, nine rebounds, and nine steals.
Despite the loss, Homer still got an impressive performance from Alexandra Albrecht, who scored 30 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Albrecht scored a full 57.7% of Homer's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jocelyn Hightree, who scored nine points along with four steals.
Bancroft-Rosalie's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Homer, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Bancroft-Rosalie will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wayne on January 2, 2024. Homer will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Archbishop Bergan at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
