The Penn Manor Comets are taking a road trip to take on the Warwick Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Penn Manor has given up an average of 8.2 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Manheim Township hit Penn Manor with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets fell 11-7 to the Blue Streaks. The Comets just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.
Zuzu Hardy was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Haley Kreider, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Warwick never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Hempfield on Monday. They came out on top against the Black Knights by a score of 15-10.
Emerson Overly was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Stella Ashcroft also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Warwick's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Penn Manor, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Penn Manor hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Warwick struggles in that department as they've averaged .371. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Penn Manor might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Warwick when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Comets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
