Linden (Mich.) saw its 10-point lead shrink to four, but hung on to beat
Lapeer East (Lapeer, Mich.) 17-13 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Noah Sargent touchdown pass to
Zac Kentish in the second quarter, the Eagles were up 10-0 at the half.
Linden saw its 10-point halftime lead decrease to three entering the fourth.
Coming into the game LHS had allowed 23.4 points per game this year.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Eagles, who were coming off a 22-15 defeat at the hands of Brandon in its previous game. The loss comes after Lapeer East defeated Swartz Creek 35-21 last week.
Linden (5-3) will play a Flint Metro game against Swartz Creek next week, while Lapeer East (4-4) will take on Holly also in a Flint Metro game.
